The Mindfulness & Trauma Clinic
Who we are
Inspired by the book “The Body Keeps the Score” by Bessel van der Kolk, this practice is grounded in the understanding that trauma affects not just our minds, but our whole body and nervous system. This clinic is home to a range of mindfulness-based experiential therapies that work deeply with healing trauma, chronic pain, relational difficulties, and sexual issues.

Internal Family Systems & Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing Therapy
Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) are the main therapeutic approaches used in this clinic. They can be used on their own or integrated, depending on what feels most suitable for each person. This is a collaborative process, at a pace that respects your readiness, nervous system, and goals, as everyone’s experience and needs are different.
Internal Family Systems is a powerfully compassionate approach that helps people explore all the different “parts” of your inner experience—such as protective, critical, or wounded parts—while building access to a more grounded and compassionate sense of Self. It can support emotional healing, reduce shame and internal conflict, and help restore balance and inner clarity.
EMDR helps the brain safely process and integrate distressing or traumatic experiences using bilateral stimulation (such as eye movements or tapping). It has strong research support for working with trauma, anxiety, and emotional dysregulation (as with IFS), and can help reduce emotional intensity of triggers or memories, improve nervous system regulation, and support memory integration.
Broad applications
Both IFS and EMDR have shown effectiveness not only for trauma, but also for a wide range of emotional and physical concerns, including chronic pain and patterns that feel stuck or recurring. They are also increasingly used in coaching, including executive coaching, mentoring, and personal development contexts, particularly when people want to understand deeper emotional patterns or break intergenerational cycles.
These approaches can help create meaningful shifts—not just in how we understand ourselves, but in how we relate, heal, and carry forward what we may pass on to others.
